neat Italian Pizza Poppers

Create an Italian-flavored savory appetizer with a batch of pizza poppers, made vegan and gluten-free with the neat Italian Mix stuffed in each popper alongside pizza sauce and vegan cheese. Especially delicious when dipped in a side of ranch or dressed with pizza sauce, these poppers are a healthy crowd favorite and will please guests and children alike.

Ingredients

  • 1 neat egg (1 tbsp of neat egg powder mixed with 2 tbsp of water)
  • 1 pack of neat Italian Mix
  • 1 jar of favorite meatless pizza sauce
  • 2 pre-made pizza dough
  • 1 1/2 cups vegan mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder

Directions

  1. Cook neat Italian according to package instructions, making crumbles (made vegan with the neat egg).
  2. Roll out pizza dough to 1/4″ thickness.  Cut 4″ squares of the pizza dough with a pizza cutter.
  3. In the center of each square, spread 1 teaspoon sauce, top with 1 tablespoon neat Italian, and a sprinkle of cheese.
  4. Fold 2 diagonal corners together, making a triangle.
  5. Seal the edges with a fork and make a slit at the top of each triangle to allow steam to escape.
  6. In a small bowl, stir olive oil and garlic together.
  7. Brush the top of each triangle with the olive oil & garlic mixture.
  8. Place the triangles on a greased cookie sheet, bake at 350 degrees for about 12 minutes or until light golden brown.
  9. Serve with a side of pizza sauce for dipping.
