neat Sloppy Joe Sliders

Pair a neat-made vegan sloppy joe mixture with pickle slices and place between buns for a delicious slider that serves great for lunches or to bring as an appetizer. The neat egg and neat Original Mix mix with ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and vinegar for a flavorful and gluten-free center to the sandwich. Eat one as a snack or create more for a meal that the whole family will enjoy.

Ingredients

  • 1 package neat Original Mix
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 1 stalk celery, diced
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 tbsp vegan Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp dry mustard powder
  • Salt/Pepper to taste
  • Cayenne pepper to taste
  • Mini hamburger buns
  • Pickle slices (optional)

Directions

  1. Prepare neat Original Mix with water, according to instructions on package.
  2. Heat olive oil in a pan at medium heat. Crumble neat mixture into pan and cook, stirring occasionally, until neat browns on all sides (about 10 minutes).
  3. Add garlic, onion, pepper, and celery and cook everything together until onions are translucent (about 7 minutes).
  4. Stir in ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, rice vinegar, and dry mustard. Let the mixture cook for another 5 minutes.
  5. Add salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper to taste.
  6. Arrange sliders by spooning a generous scoop of mixture into each bun. Top with pickle slices and enjoy.
