Ingredients

  • 2 cans of TUNO Spring Water, drained
  • 2 cups cooked pasta (macaroni or your favorite shape)
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 2 celery stalks, diced
  • 1 cup green peas (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 cup vegan bread crumbs
  • 2 cups vegan béchamel sauce (homemade or store-bought)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and celery and sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the drained TUNO to the skillet and break it apart with a fork or spatula.
  4. Cook for an additional 3-5 minutes until heated through.
Season the TUNO mixture with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
  5. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta, green peas, TUNO mixture, and vegan béchamel sauce. Mix everything together until well combined.
  6. Transfer the mixture into a greased casserole dish, spreading it evenly.
Sprinkle the vegan bread crumbs over the top of the casserole to create a crispy topping.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the casserole is heated through.
  8. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
  9. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve your Tuna Casserole warm.
